About VCT

Vapor Control Technologies, LLC (VCT) was formed in 2011 to bring innovative technology to solve industry’s need to control organic vapors and address odor issues. With our extensive knowledge and experience in the field, we are able to identify the ideal mitigation system to resolve those problems, out-performing traditional approaches, and at higher efficiency and lower cost.

Flint KinkadeFlint Kinkade, CHMM • Managing Director

Flint Kinkade is recognized throughout the northeastern US as an expert in identifying and mitigating vapor intrusion of toxic chemicals. That background provided a springboard into identifying and mitigating other organic vapors and onsite odors. For more than 20 years his environmental practice has focused on those problems at brownfield sites, industrial and commercial properties, and residences – well over 500 sites throughout the United States.

He founded VCT to specifically address organic vapors and odors, after research and development of patented, sustainable technologies for which VCT has the exclusive right to distribute and install.

Flint has worked closely and collaborated with Dr. Blayne Hartman, an internationally recognized vapor intrusion and vapor testing expert based in California. They frequently present together at national and regional technical conferences. Flint has conducted sampling and mitigation demonstrations and training to regulators in USEPA Regions 1 and 2; and in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, California, and Montana; and to many environmental consultants and developers. He has contributed to vapor intrusion and soil gas guidance documents for ASTM International, the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC), and the State of New Jersey’s Licensed Site Professional Remediation Professional Association.

Merwin Kinkade, CHMM • Partner

Merwin Kinkade has been in the environmental services field since 1977 when he was on the adjunct faculty at NJ Institute of Technology, teaching courses in environment and ecology. He founded Viridian® Environmental Consultants in 1991. Recognized for his ability to solve complex environmental problems, particularly in vapor mitigation, Merwin has vast experience with all facets of environmental assessment, investigation, and remediation.

With his son, Flint as the lead, Merwin started Vapor Control Technologies, LLC (VCT) in 2011. They realized the value of innovative technologies that could mitigate odors and organic vapors and allied the firm with the inventor and manufacturer of the control system, Uday Singh.

Merwin, now retired from Viridian® Environmental Consultants, is actively participating in VCT’s implementation of odor control and vapor control systems in specific industrial and commercial sites nation-wide.

Uday Singh, Director of Hazardous Material Services

Uday Singh is an industrial hygienist with decades of experience in conducting building surveys for industrial, commercial, and residential sites, assessing whether hazardous or toxic materials – lead, mercury, asbestos, noxious vapors – are present, and in what volume and configuration. He has successful experience controlling odors in active sewage treatment plants throughout the United States. He brings important skills to support VCT’s odor and vapor control efforts.

Uday has designed an innovative system incorporating UV technology that addresses odors and organic vapors. He has a patent pending for the system, and with VCT, he designs systems for specific control needs. VCT is the sole distributor, installer, trainer, and maintainer of Mr. Singh’s systems.

Mr. Singh’s client list includes JetBlue Airlines; the New York Post; Westchester Community College; Fanwood NJ School for the Deaf; Erasmus School, Brooklyn; Butterick-Vogue Patterns, the Borough of Tinton Falls, NJ.
