Vapor Control Technologies, LLC (VCT) was formed in an effort to bring leading edge technology products to the construction industry. With industry leading expertise and experience in the vapor intrusion industry and strong relationships throughout the construction industry we were able to identify the ideal mitigation system for new and remodeled buildings that out performs traditional systems at significant cost savings.
VCT sells a patented aerated floor system, to mitigate vapor intrusion. Water, Radon, Methane, Chemical Contaminant Vapors are collected beneath the floor slab and vented to the outside air. The system provides structural support to the slab, needing less concrete and less fill material. The system is setup faster than typical sub-slab depressurization/barrier systems.
VCT can provide design and engineering to meet specific site conditions, supervision and testing. Our product is approved nationwide, including the USEPA.
Flint Kinkade is recognized throughout the northeastern U.S. as an expert in vapor intrusion. For more than 20 years, his environmental practice has focused on soil vapor issues on Brownfields, commercial and industrial redevelopment projects, and residential construction – more than 500 sites in all.
Flint founded Vapor Control Technologies, LLC (VCT) in 2011 and employs Cupolex® as a tool to mitigate contaminant vapors at new building sites. After seeing the product demonstrated and installed around the world and in other areas of the United States, he realized the value and efficacy of this innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective aerated flooring system.
Since 2015, VCT has also installed related Cupolex® Building Systems (CBS) products that address storm water management, sustainable pavements, structural slab solutions, soil cells, and green roofs
Flint has worked closely and collaborated with Dr. Blayne Hartman, a nationally recognized vapor intrusion expert based in California; they frequently present together at national and regional technical conferences on vapor intrusion. Flint has conducted sampling demonstrations and training on soil gas methods and vapor intrusion to regulators in USEPA Regions 1 and 2; state regulatory agencies in New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, California, and Montana; and numerous environmental consultants and developers. He also has been a contributing author/editor to vapor intrusion and soil gas guidance documents for ASTM International, Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC), and the State of New Jersey’s Licensed Site Remediation Professional Association.
Merwin Kinkade has been a leader in the environmental services field for more than 40 years. Recognized for his ability to solve complex environmental problems, particularly in the area of vapor mitigation, Merwin possesses vast experience with all facets of environmental assessment, investigation and remediation, as well as extensive field experience.
With his son Flint Kinkade, Merwin founded Vapor Control Technologies, LLC (VCT) in 2011. They realized the value of Cupolex® as an innovative, sustainable soil vapor mitigation tool and were eager to introduce the cost-effective aerated flooring system as a remedial solution to meet the needs of their clients throughout the northeastern U.S.
Since 2015, VCT has also installed related Cupolex® Building Systems (CBS) products that address storm water management, sustainable pavements, structural slab solutions, soil cells, and green roofs.
